The RFID Safety Switch R-SAFE

The safety switch with RFID technology and high tamper protection.

The R-SAFE RFID safety switch allows contactless monitoring of protective devices and provides a high level of tamper protection according to EN ISO 14119. Thanks to the RFID technology, the sensors can be operated in different coding levels and achieve safety levels up to PL e / SIL 3 – even in series connection.

The R-SAFE safety switch is suitable for both new machines and retrofits and is fully mechanically compatible with the Magnus RFID and Magnus MG series. Whether for door, flap, or hood monitoring on machines and systems, or for serial connection of multiple safety components in production cells – the R-SAFE safety switch is versatile. It is also ideal for retrofitting existing safety circuits.

The safety switch is particularly suitable for the food, packaging, and process industries with high hygiene requirements.

Coding Options:

• Generic: one actuator can be used with multiple sensors
• Unique: actuator is factory-assigned to a single sensor
• Teach-in (Plus Model): actuator is taught during commissioning, assignment can be repeated

Variants:

• Basic Model (5-pin): automatic restart
• Plus Model (8-pin): automatic/manual restart, teach-in coding, series connection

Multiple R-SAFE sensors can be connected in series without individual wiring of the status outputs. The individual states remain readable, enabling high diagnostic capability and easy integration into existing safety controllers (e.g., PROFIsafe).
