... that there will be no transition period for the new EU Machinery Regulation starting 20 January 2027?

Starting from 20 January 2027, the new EU Machinery Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 will be mandatory. Unlike a gradual changeover, there is no parallel phase in which the old and new rules can be applied side by side.

This means that machinery placed on the market from this date must comply with the requirements of the new Machinery Regulation. It is therefore important for manufacturers to take the changeover into account in good time in development, documentation and conformity assessment.
