Legal requirements and industry standards such as ISO, the new Machinery Directive, and EU regulations are becoming increasingly stringent. Users must ensure that their machines comply with the latest safety requirements. Regular checks, updates to safety measures, and investments in state- of-the-art safety technologies are essential. With our safety products, you are always up to date!
Integrating new safety components into existing systems can be complex and costly. The use of modular security systems and collaboration with our experts ensure seamless integration.
Safety precautions can lead to production interruptions if machines have to be stopped regularly. By implementing proactive maintenance programmes and advanced sensors, we enable preventative measures to be taken without interrupting operations.
Security measures can require high investments, which makes cost management difficult. Cost-benefit analyses and long-term planning help to implement security investments strategically.
The rapid development of new technologies requires continuous adaptation and investment. Flexibility and the use of advanced technologies are therefore essential - as is cooperation with innovative partners in machine safety.

Non-contact RFID sensors monitor doors that can be opened at any time and therefore pose a risk to production and employees. When the door is opened, the system must come to a standstill quickly or the necessary safety distance must be maintained.
Short risk times and a flexible wiring concept are therefore among the most important requirements.
These are our safety heroes of RFID safety sensors for the packaging industry:
A flat actuator saves space, increases safety, enables flexible mounting, is more resistant to shocks and vibrations and offers ergonomic advantages. Ideal for confined and demanding industrial environments.
With protection classes IP67 and IP69K, SAFIX is ideally suited for demanding areas of application. The ECOLAB certification makes it ideal for the food and packaging industry. Thanks to flexible wiring options such as XCONN or wireless solutions as well as various connection variants – 5 m and 10 m cable or M12 pigtail – he sensor can be easily integrated into any system.
Thanks to its stainless steel housing and IP69 certification, the HGL (LOUIS) hygienic solenoid interlock is ideally suited for the food and pharmaceutical industries. This is because the solenoid interlock can be easily cleaned and washed down thanks to its design and corrosion-resistant stainless steel housing. The stainless steel surface also makes bacterial growth more difficult. Integrated seals protect the electronics and seal any edges so that no dirt can accumulate.
The smart HOLDX R process guard lock protects packaging systems against unintentional opening. The integrated RFID safety sensor ensures the safety of the system, while the electromagnet keeps the door closed and thus protects the processes. The integrated RFID safety sensor fulfils the highest performance level PLe. An integrated Bluetooth interface and the extended LED diagnostics enable smart operation and fast diagnostics. Two variants are available: RS with 600 N holding force and RL with 1200 N holding force.
The smart HOLDX R process guard lock offers fast diagnostics thanks to LEDs on both sides. It immediately recognises if another guard locking device in the system does not achieve the desired force or if there is a fault in the input/output circuit.
Packaging machines often have many doors to ensure easy access to the machine during set-up or for maintenance purposes. This means that the system or guard locking can be cleaned or realigned as part of preventive maintenance.

The slim EOS4 (PLe) from REER is ideal for narrow packaging machines and enables a compact design. The fast risk times of the light curtain offer efficient protection of hazardous areas where frequent interventions are necessary.
Our safety fence systems offer customised solutions that both comply with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and are certified in accordance with the DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 standard. With a wide range of customisation options, we offer you the safety that your packaging system needs. Flexible customisation of protective fencing equipment is particularly important in the packaging industry. High hygiene standards also play a major role – which is why we offer various solutions for you.
✔ Customisable: different heights, different fillings – with high hygiene standards!
High-speed doors are frequently used for pallet feeding. Opening speeds of up to 2.5 m/s ensure a smooth process with the shortest cycle times. The extremely robust design and antistatic surface of the door curtain are ideal for the packaging industry in particular.
Our fencing system is just one highlight – we'd be happy to talk to you about others!

If it is necessary to provide the operator with a special operating mode for work such as commissioning, maintenance, servicing or setting up processes, important legal requirements must be observed. Approval mode is a tried and tested option.
In this operating mode, the machine operator has the option of overriding certain safety devices such as safety doors by selecting the operating mode and activating the enabling device. The 3-stage function is important here. Only in the centre position does the 3-stage enabling switch enable certain hazardous movements subject to additional precautions. If the operator releases the enabling switch or presses it through to level three, the system switches off safely.
